About Your Instructor

I began Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in my late 30s, initially to become more active and to support my son when he started training. What began as a simple step quickly grew into a lasting passion, and I’ve now been training consistently for over eight years. I am a brown belt, training several times a week and continuing to develop both on and off the mats.

Jiu-Jitsu has been transformative for me — not only physically but mentally. It has strengthened my discipline, patience, and resilience — qualities that align closely with my values as a Muslim, such as self-control, humility, respect, and continuous self-improvement. I see training as more than just a sport; it is a means of maintaining both physical health and mental well-being.

As a coach, my aim is to make classes accessible, welcoming, and safe for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level. I want sessions to be enjoyable while encouraging people to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, and experience the many benefits Jiu-Jitsu can offer.

I continue to compete where possible to test myself and grow, and I’ve stepped into teaching as a way to give back to the community. I train at Roger Gracie Academy Bristol, part of one of the most established Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu networks in the country.
