About Greenbank Masjid
Greenbank Masjid (Easton Islami Darasgah) is a registered charity and Islamic centre in the heart of Easton, Bristol, following the Hanafi Deobandi tradition. We serve a diverse Muslim community across Bristol and the surrounding areas, providing daily congregational prayers, Madrassah education, and a wide range of community services.
Bristol is home to over 31,700 Muslims — around 6.7% of the city’s population — and Easton sits at the heart of that community. We are a busy, active and forward-thinking Masjid and we are looking for the right person to help us take the next step in our journey.
About the Role
This is a full-time dual role combining the pastoral and spiritual responsibilities of an Imam with the leadership, teaching and day-to-day management of the Madrassah, with a broadly equal split between the two areas subject to the needs of the organisation.
As Madrassah Head, the post holder will lead and develop the Madrassah’s education provision, manage and support the teaching team, and drive continued improvement in the quality of Islamic education offered to our students. As Imam, the post holder will provide religious leadership and pastoral care to the congregation, actively engage with Muslim youth, and take an active role in community events and outreach. Working closely with the Management Committee, the post holder will play a central role in the growth, wellbeing and ambitions of Greenbank Masjid as a whole.
