Why this project matters

Greenbank Masjid is a busy place of worship and community hub in Bristol. The masjid is used daily for the five daily prayers and Jumu’ah, madrassah and educational programmes, community activities and events, and support services for local families.

With energy costs continuing to rise, this project will help the masjid manage its running expenses more effectively. The savings can then be redirected towards maintaining and improving services for the community.

By installing solar panels and battery storage, Greenbank Masjid will be able to generate and store renewable energy for use when needed, improving efficiency and long-term sustainability.
